Your rubric hunt is over!
Teach BIG has put together an ECR Content Rubric as well as an ECR Conventions Rubric. This download contains the Conventions Rubric for all writing styles.
This easy-to-use rubric contains the five constructs as stated in the TEA rubric. Spelling, Punctuation, Capitalization, Sentence Construction, and Grammar are all categorized with ease of understanding in mind. If you’re not sure what the state means by each of these categories, this rubric is for you!
Although a holistic score is derived at the conclusion of the rubric, we have made great efforts to assign a logical point system so that the constructs can be broken down into tangible and rewardable elements. This also allows for a gradebook score to be established along with a holistic score.
The Conventions score for this rubric makes up two of the five points attainable by a state rater.
When the points earned on the ECR content rubric are added to the ECR conventions rubric, a total score of a five is established.
Wait, no longer, and make your grading life easier with just the click of a button.
This rubric is also explained in great detail within our ECR seminars and workshops. If you are interested in attending a seminar or having us to your campus, please reach out to 281-549-4466 or go to our website Teachbig.com to read all about the different seminars that we offer.
The agendas for all of the seminars can also be found in the Product section of the Teach BIG Teacher Store under Funding Documents.
Directions:
After reading a student’s paper, circle or color in the box that best represents their response.
The columns are assigned different point values.
Based on the boxes you marked in each row, multiply that number of boxes by the number assigned to that column.
That is the raw score of the student’s response.
To determine the scale score (holistic and gradebook equivalent), look at the charts below the rubric.
A possible two points are earned this rubric.
