Teaching how to identify the central idea (main idea) just came a bit easier to tackle with these central idea activities. Students will use a noun approach to identify the topic in the central idea. In addition, they will learn that every central idea must include an outcome and is specific to the passage they are reading. By identifying the basic elements that make up a central idea, students will gain confidence to identify the central idea no matter the passage.
