This is a resource that emphasizes the different types of textual evidence that can be found across all reading genres.
The acronym stands for time, reaction, action, character, or concept, key knowledge, and setting. All of these words have synonyms, which helped further the understanding of identifying evidence, such as problems, solutions, causes and effects, eras, character, changes, etc.. by knowing the different types of textual evidence to look for, students are more likely to recognize them independently.
The colors that have been assigned to each of the TRACKS, correspond to the colors offered in the highlighting section of the Starr 2.0 assessment.
Knowing these colors, will help students effectively highlight or annotate as they read in an online assessment setting. This resource also differentiates TRACKS found within two genres (literary and informative).
