This document contains a FREE blueprint of the Teach BIG Phonics Scope and Sequence. It is important to note that there are many wonderful ways to introduce letters and their sounds. The groupings found in the Teach BIG Scope and Sequence is based on frequently used letters so that students can create and read more words quickly and efficiently.

 The Teach BIG phonics curriculum is divided up into 20 groups. The emphasis is on letter sounds (phonemes) and the different letters (graphemes) that make up those letters sounds. Although our charts and activities are arranged according to this scope and sequence, all of our activities and lessons can be used independently to support the scope and sequence used by your curriculum.

 Grade level emphasis: K to 3rd grade, struggling readers, and readers who need practice understanding that there are 44 sounds (phonemes) and 75 ways to create them (graphemes).
