English has 45 sounds (phonemes) represented by 75 phonograms (letters or letter combinations). Phonograms can be 1 to 4 letters long (e.g., /t/, /sh/, /igh/, /eigh/). Teaching phonemes systematically is an efficient way to help children read. The Phonogram Flashcards help teachers and students practice these sounds and spellings.
